ABOUTGRACE

Grace Bible Fellowship is a Free Grace family church in Brighton, Colorado, that has been serving the local community since 1972. We meet every Sunday and throughout the week to grow our personal relationships with Jesus Christ through solid Biblical teaching! We desire to be a family of believers who love being together in fellowship; doing life alongside each other and encouraging each other.

We believe every believer can study and understand God's word! GRACE is dedicated to equipping believers to dig deep into the Bible's reliable, infallible truth!
We believe the good news of the Gospel is simple and clear;
Believe in Jesus Christ for the gift of salvation and you will have everlasting life!

We want to go deep with our foundational beliefs and hope you do too!
Take a look at the quick overview below
and if you need even more doctrine, we have that here too!

WHAT WE BELIEVE

  • Salvation
We believe that everlasting life is received by faith alone in Christ alone. The basis for everlasting life is Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. Because He died in the place of mankind, anyone can receive everlasting life through faith in Him. We believe that everlasting life is just that; everlasting. It can never be lost. It is received by faith in Christ and not achieved by works. We are Free Grace in our theology and reject all forms of Lordship Salvation teaching. (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16; Romans 4:5; John 10:28) The Good News of the Gospel is simple and clear.
  • The Bible
Our desire is to be a church that is following and standing firm on the Bible. We believe the Bible is inerrant, infallible, and God-breathed, and therefore is the final authority for faith and is the sole rule of life and sole revelation of God to man. We are committed to the expositional teaching of the entire counsel of God using the literal, historical, grammatical, and dispensational interpretation of Scripture. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
  • God
We believe there is one and only one living and true God, an infinite Spirit, the Maker and supreme Ruler of Heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, and love; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption (Exodus 20:2-3; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Revelation 4:11)
  • Jesus
We believe in Jesus Christ, the second Person of the Trinity. He is fully God, yet fully man. He died upon a literal cross, was buried and physically rose from the dead three days later. He died to pay the penalty for sin which is death. He rose to prove that He was God. (John 20:31; Romans 5:8)
  • The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity. He is fully God. He baptizes and indwells every believer at salvation. He gives gifts to believers to enable them to serve one another. We believe that the sign gifts were reserved for the initial stages of the Church. (Ephesians 1:13-14; Ephesians 5:18; 1 Corinthians 12:13)
  • The Trinity
We believe that there is one God eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:16-17; John 10:28-30)
  • Free Grace Theology
We believe and teach Free Grace Theology. Free Grace theology is the biblical view that everlasting life is a free gift paid for by the Lord Jesus when He died on the cross for our sins. Everlasting life is received by faith alone in Christ alone, apart from works before or afterwards of any kind; that assurance of one’s eternal destiny is based solely on believing Jesus’ promise and not at all on our works or on our feelings. (John 4:10; John 6:40; Romans 5:15-17; Romans 6:23; Colossians 2:13-14; 2 Corinthians 9:15; Revelation 22:17)
  • Assurance of Salvation
We believe that assurance is of "the essence of saving faith." That is, the immediate moment one believes in Christ for the free gift of eternal life, one cannot lack assurance or expect works to prove their salvation, for this is not assurance based on faith in Christ. Assurance improperly placed on works becomes no assurance since believers will never be perfect in all practical sense. Therefore, those who initially lack complete assurance at the moment of saving faith did not believe the gospel offer of Christ because Scripture only knows two adequate responses to accept the free offer of eternal life. Either Christ's claim to give eternal life is believed, or it's not. There is no such thing as having 99% (or less) assurance. This would simply mean one has not understood the simple gospel that promises eternal life for anyone who simply believes Christ. This is why we believe it's the privilege, not only of some, but of all who are born again by the Spirit through faith in Christ as revealed in the Scriptures, to be assured of their salvation from the very moment they take Him to be their Savior and that this assurance is not founded upon any fancied discovery of their own worthiness or fitness, but wholly upon the testimony of God's very Word, the Bible. This should excite within His children filial love, gratitude, and obedience (John 11:25-27; Luke 10:20; 22:32; 2 Corinthians 5:1, 6-8; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 10:22; 1John 5:13).
  • Justification & Sanctification
Justification We believe that justification is that judicial act of God whereby He declares the believer righteous upon the basis of the imputed righteousness of Christ; that it is bestowed, not in consideration of any work of righteousness which we have done, but solely through faith in the Redeemer, Jesus Christ (Romans 3:24; 4:5; 5:1, 9; Galatians 2:16; Philippians 3:9). Sanctification We believe that we are called to walk holy (i.e., to separate from any and all sinful practices). Believers should not walk after the flesh but the Spirit. The Adamic (sin) nature known as the flesh resides with us from birth and remains with believers until death. Thus, the fallen sin nature is never eradicated but remains during one's earthly pilgrimage, and needs to be kept under control through the Word in subjection to Christ, or it will surely manifest its presence in the lives of believers to the end of dishonoring the Lord (Rom 5:1-8:39; 12-13; Gal 5:16-23; Eph 4:22-24; Col 2:1-10; 1 Pet 1:14-16; 1 John 1:4-7; 3:5-9). We believe that sanctification is the divine setting apart of the believer unto God accomplished in a threefold manner: first, an eternal act of God, based upon redemption in Christ, establishing the believer in a position of holiness at the moment he trusts the Savior; second, a continuing process as the saint applies the Word of God to their life; third, the final accomplishment of this process at the Lord’s return (Hebrews 10:10–14; 3:1; John 17:17; 2 Corinthians 3:18; 1 Corinthians 1:30; Ephesians 5:25–27; 1 Thessalonians 4:3, 4; 5:23, 24; 1 John 3:2; Jude 24, 25; Revelation 22:11).
